More and more car insurers are offering incentives to entice you to take out car insurance with them so below are some of the freebies currently available: –
There are a couple of insurance companies offering free fuel.
Tesco will provide £50 towards filling up your tank if you are a new customer taking out car insurance with them but you will also have to be a Tesco Clubcard holder.
Swift Cover is running a competition until the 30th October. If you obtain and save a quote on their website and take out the cover or renew your existing cover with them you will go in a draw with the chance of being the person who wins fuel for a year subject to a maximum of £3,000. There are 3 runners up prizes of £200 of fuel vouchers.
For new customers of Aviva who have at least 4 years no claims discount and it should also be noted a minimum premium is applicable they are providing 10 weeks car insurance for nothing if you apply by phone but if you apply via the Internet this will increase to 15 weeks.
As an example, someone was originally quoted £961 per annum but had the quote reduced to £777 with the 15-week discount resulting in a saving of £184. However, interestingly, the individual was still able to get a cheaper quote elsewhere with a different insurance company.
Until the 30th September 2012 Churchill is offering free car insurance for 8 weeks for those motorists taking out a policy with them.
Free breakdown cover
If you are a new customer and apply before the 30th September directly to the Post Office they will provide free breakdown cover for a year with a value of £49. This cover is with the well known motoring organisation- the RAC and includes not only roadside assistance but also recovery.
The Post Office is not alone in offering free breakdown cover as this is also available for new customers with the RAC, AA and Sainsbury’s Bank.
However, remember it is still very important that you obtain the car insurance cover that meets your requirements at a price you are happy with -it is not about taking out car insurance just for the freebie on offer.
